Forum URL to be changed to forums.eukhost.com

Dear Members of eUK Forums,

We will be switching URL of our forum from http://www.eukhost.com/forums/ to http://forums.eukhost.com/ on coming Sunday Feb 12 2012.

This change is being made for Search Engine Optimization benefits. We will set redirect from the old URL to the new URL.

Please feel free to post here if you need any additional information from my side.

At least they'll be a redirect as well! - I know for a fact after nearly 5 years of going to the old URL I'll keep typing it by mistake after the 12th

@Ben & @DPS, you may continue repeating the mistake its anyways going to be a 301 redirect which would still take you to the new URL

Haha, that's good to know Stan.

I started typing the old URL and then I remembered about Ben saying then new URL was live already so I typed that one in.

Obviously I know that it is not officially live yet but I have found an issue with the new URL which I am not sure whether you are aware of... but here goes.

If you use the new forums.eukhost.com url it takes you to the forums but if you type in your username and password it says that you've logged in successfully but then when you are redirected to the main forums page you are not shown as logged in. To actually get logged in I had to go back to the eukhost.com/forums URL.

Didn't know whether you were aware so just thought I'd say

Good catch!

As stated by Mark, the redirection and other backend changes would be made during the weekend ie. 12th Feb. 2012 after which I'm sure you'd not face this problem again. We are looking forward to a smooth migration to the new home for our forum

Due to some reason we were not able to make this change on the weekend. We will switch to the new url structure in this week.

I was just about to ask if it had been changed

.

Will wait off on training myself to go to the new URL until the update has taken effect

We have switched to the new url structure i.e. forums.eukhost.com If you notice any errors/bugs please update this thread, we will fix the bugs.

Just noticed when I typed in the old URL I was redirected to the new URL. All seems to be working so far

.

Now I've just got to train my brain to go to forums.eukhost.com from now on!
