Default Win a Laptop - new contest

    Dear Forum members,

To keep up with our tradition of coming up with a competition frequently,
Eukhost is ready to launch a new contest starting on Saturday, August 30th,
on our forum. The winner of this contest will receive a Dell Notebook or, if the winner is a non UK resident, a cash prize of £500.00.

You only have to spend about 10 minutes or so in writing an article which
will attract the maximum number of unique vistiors over the next
15 days. Those of you who have knowlegde of SEO may have an edge, but it's
a contest open to anyone and everyone. So, get on with it and write something
unique! You never know which article will attract the attention of
visitors. The content of the article could be current affairs, web hosting,
Internet, search engines or any topic which you think would be useful and
    add to an individual's knowledge.

WE have added a new forum at Contest - UK Web Hosting | Dedicated Server Windows and Linux VPS Forum specifically for this contest.

All your articles should be posted within these two categories only. Any
thread posted outside of it will not be considered for the competition. Eukhost
will track the number of unique visitors your thread attracts from our
custom statistics software which will be made available for viewing to the
customers at the end of the contest. There is no limit on the number of
threads which can be posted by each member of the forum. Only the thread
with the maximum unique visitors will be considered.

The new forum will open on August 30th. So, take your time, put your
thinking caps on and write something unique.

    Regards,
    Mark Ducadi,

Yes, you can use it. But your article should be unique enough for search engines to page them and attract more traffic on it.

There is no limit on the number of articles/threads you can post. All you need to do is think and write something unique which would attract the maximum number of unique visitors in 15 days.

Sounds like a great contest - I will be very interested to see which is the winning article!! - Maybe if possible at the end a top 10 can be produced of the 10 best articles so we can see where the others are in comparison and how close the contest is?

    Thank you

I assume that the current threads will also be counted - albeit from this evening?

I have just realized an unfair advantage with this competition, moderators are allowed more amounts of tags for their threads than normal members

Errmmm I don't think its an unfair advantage. Tags make little if any difference, at the end of the day its down to how you promote your entry, period.

They do make a difference, vBulletin parses them into the META tags of the webpage.

That's not the point, the promotion of the thread through directories etc. outweighs metas by a long way.

META tags still give it that extra boost, maybe people don't know how to promote via directories or backlinks and want to use something simple, they can use the META tags.. restricting how many tags we can use in comparison to other users gives them a slight advantage.
