Hi
I currently have a VPS with eukhost which I'm more than happy with.
Next month I'll be requiring something with a little more power and currently I'm eyeing up with starting with a linux semi-dedicated to kick off with (upgrading to a dedicated when needed).
I have a few questions :
1) On the Linux semi-dedicated package is there a limit to the size of a MySQL database? if so, what is the maximum size?
2) As a rough basic estimate how many users could a linux semi dedicated handle at the same time with each page requiring MySQL (approx 3-5 table calls per page) and each page serving approx 20 small images (static constant images belonging to each page) at less than 8kb and up to 3 images (dynamic and different per page) around the 60kb size. I know this will be very difficult to give an answer to but I'd like to be happy that it won't buckle easily with a handful of active members.
3) If I need to upgrade to a dedicated server down the line, would I be able to get everything up and running on the dedicated server before the semi is turned off?
4) If the time arises when one dedicated is not enough power, could eukhost help with clustering/load balancing (which ever term you prefer)?
5) Should the time arise when I need option 4 and you have the facilities, would I be able to arrange a face to face (or over the phone) chat to discuss the best options for further growth?
Thanks in advance![]()
