Default Small VPS server & virgin media test

    hello

im hoping some one can help me or point me in the right direction

ive seen and had the issues that come with being a virgin media customer connecting to the dc ... for weeks and weeks i suffered dropped connections and packetloss ( pingplotter said packetloss )

so im hoping we can help each other and get virgin to sort out their issues and the " our network is faultless its your fault " attitude that has cost me so much time and money
so im looking to rent a nice VPS server and it will be for private use and no customers or others that will moan about not connecting at certain times, it will be used for me to try and learn new things and id like to install a smf board for my daughter to use the arcade features as im sick of her pressing adverts on cbbc or citv and ending up all over the world

    spec wise and usuage

    5gb hdd
    512mb ram
    100 gb b/w
    centos 5
directadmin or webmin or if i must cpanel

it wont be used much and id like to help us all by running tests that can be used to show virgin that the issues are their end and not every customer can be fixed using the magic 30 sec reboot or uses limewire and other crappy apps they just presume you have ?

you gain a customer that wont moan about connections - you also get income for a server that has known issues with virgin customers connecting and as a virgin customer and a server customer i can make them listen and fix

i gain some practise and a safe adfree place for my daughter to play

if anyone can make any offers or help me out id be very grateful

Sorry, but you're a bit late.

Virgin have now acknowledged that the problem is on their end.

I'd appreciate if we could keep this Virgin Media issue isolated to one topic. This issue IS being dealt with, we haven't given up, but it only confuses things when more then one topic regarding the issue is opened. If you have anything to say regarding the Virgin Media problem, please use the official thread created.
