    Default enight again

    Hi there,

is there a way to ensure that a minimum number of cores are available?

I have taken the plunge and rather than purchase another dedicated box I am going to run with this for a while.

However, the 1st thing clients do is to speed test their installation and while things are quite there is only 1 core awake..

if i subject the VM to a seige or apache bench test of 30 users for 2 mins the cores ramp up to 15 ish and it goes like a rocket.. however clients generally test a single page in pingdom tools or similar.. at this point here is only 1 core and the test does not take enough time to fire up a second.. never mind any more.

while the results are not rubbish they are also not representative of how fast things will be if more cores were online.

    any ideas?

it would be cool if you could specify between 09:00 and 17:30 have a min of 4 core and then drop if quiet over night?

    Default eNlight again

    Hello Andy,

As of now in eNlight Cloud, users can set MAX limit for RAM and CPU but they can not specify MIN limit for them. The default MIN limit is 1 core and 512MB RAM.

Our R&D team is working on the model where Users will be able to specify Minimum resource limit for their server but this can only be done if users are ready to pay for minimum allocation. In this new feature we can offer a Min-Max scalable range of RAM and CPU which will be totally flexible and users may modify it anytime.

In your case the cores will jump to 15+ only if you have set a max limit above 15. You can set the max limit to 4 to test for peak load and allow your tests to run for 5+ mins.

Let us know how it goes, we can then think on more ideas.

Sounds great.. like I say a timer attached to that feature would be even better

    Thanks ajbird,

Once the feature is decided to include in eNlight cloud, we may take a poll about it and shall release it. Scheduling such resource management is also planned but can not commit on that.

    More suggestions are !!!
