Default Why is EUK SUpport so bad?

Another tail of woe and a really unhelpful experience from the EUK support team

None of my scheduled tasks are running on datahostingonline.net and support are hopeless. History goes like this:

I raise a support ticket - None of my scheduled tasks are running on the domain
Support response - what exactly is the issue?
I reply - the exact issue is that my scheduled tasks that should run every day aren't running
Support response - send the error message
Me - No error as the tasks ARE NOT RUNNING
support - they are configured correctly
Me - they are not running
Support - we have run them and they are perfect
Me - they are not running, I have logged on to plesk, clicked run now and have no output

Well - I guess you kinda get the gist of it. So in summary I am prob going to move to a new host in the new year as support has been so consistently poor.

I have asked one of the Windows Admin to look into the issue. He will update the ticket and the forum shortly.

    Hello There,

I can see that the ticket (ZYP-742-16461) was replied yesterday by one of our support technicians. Request you to kindly check if you still face the same issue with the test task scheduled in your account and respond to the same ticket.

Looking forward to hearing from you.

    Best Regards,
    Stan

Yea still not working, to be honest I think it wil be quicker to move hosts than to waste my time responding to the support desk telling me that they have fixed it when they clearly have not.

    Hello There,

We have tested scheduler on different domains / accounts on this server and it works without issue. We have created a test scheduler under your domain "doorentry.net" and scheduler works fine. You can check the test schedule task under "doorentry.net". I have updated your ticket with the login details of test email account where you will get the scheduler output reply. There might be an issue with plesk database setting for "datahostingonline.net" as a result scheduler did not work for "datahostingonline.net". This can be resolved by recreating the domain.

    Regards,

    Nicholas.

I do not know if I am replying to this thread late. However, this is what I know, having been a webmaster for a long time. If you guys are talking about Event Scheduler of MySQL, then the following is my comment:

The first mistake from both parties in this thread is that the phrase or anything similar to "Event Scheduler of MySQL" was not used, otherwise, somebody would have pointed what I am about to point out:

Programming has a lot of jargons and one word can mean different things in different contexts. Now the operation of PHP Interpreter or MySQL server depends on the operating system, version of the operating system, and the version of PHP or MySQL. That, I learned from experience.

For example php-5.3.8 and mysql-5.5.19 work very well in one of the computers in my office; this computer has Windows XP SP2 as operating system. Some versions of PHP do not work in the computer, when they are supposed to work. Also some versions of MySQL do not work when they are supposed to work. The versions that do not work are free on the Internet to be downloaded from the official sites, and no bug issues concerning the versions are apparent (indicated).

Now assume that applications and their versions work in operating systems as they should. The Linux hosting at EUKHOST uses MySQL 5.0.51. According to the MySQL manual, Event Scheduler begins with MySQL 5.1.6, for most, if not all operating systems. If the-ferret's hosting at EUKHOST is using the Linux operating system, then there is no way, MySQL event Scheduler can work in his site.

If I am on the right track, then I hope my reply gives some light to the query.

    Regards
