Hi,
I recently (a couple of months ago) enquired about installing nginx on our dedicated server as a reverse proxy to serve static files (images etc) to reduce load on apache as per the following article:
Speeding up dynamic websites via an nginx proxy
It is also possible to link it to mcache:
Nginx and Memcached, a 400% boost! - igvita.com
Now at the time you said that it is not allowed to install nginx on your servers as it is a proxy, yes its true it can be used as such but in this case its used as a reverse proxy to apache and is in no way putting other users of your services at risk, especially as this would be on a dedicated machine and a semi-dedicated.
I ask you to please reconsider allowing the use of nginx as a reverse proxy (only) as the gains for our clients would be so great, especially for sluggish magento powered ecommerce sites. I have had a great experience hosting with you guys and will most likely bring many more customers to your service, I hate to be having to look for equally good alternatives that do allow the use of nginx as a reverse proxy on their system, in this case the benefits are likely to be so great they cannot be ignored.
Cheers, QB3RT
