let me know what is the diff between 8 GB ECC and 8 GB DDR3 ?
Which is better in terms of speed ? Also do you provide 8 GB ECC RAM with your Dedicated Servers ?

ECC i.e Error-Correcting Code is a type of memory that includes special circuitry for testing the accuracy of data as it passes in and out of memory. It is a feature wherein the verification of the data is done so that the security of the data is maintained. The data flows in and out of the RAM so the data source is maintained on the RAM virtually. The Parity of the data is rechecked on the passing by data remembering its Hamming Code so that loss of data is minimum. DDR3 RAM gives a better performance even at low power and has a longer battery life. In ECC RAM, the notch is at a different position so its hard to find a motherboard where ECC RAM can fit in and due to all these reasons we provide DDR3 RAM on most of our Dedicated servers to get a better performance.

Remember that most of the latest chipsets don't support ECC, so you will have to go with DDR3. Even though ECC may decrease your server performance. Currently DDR3 RAM is very stable, and memory errors are very rare.
