    Exclamation SSL Certificate Installation

    Hi Guys.

We've got a few dedicated servers with yourselves and the support in general is very good.
One place where it always, always falls down is the installation of SSL certificates.

I realise that it's not a straightforward task, and that there's a lot of going back and forth with regards to the email from the SSL provider etc, but of the 5 certificates we've had installed on our servers, none of them have ever been installed correctly first time round.

We've just had another installed and once again I'm having to request that it is reinstalled properly because it hasn't worked the first time round.
I know that the Alpha SSL certificates don't come with the 'Free Installation Healthcheck' that the others come with (although, I'm not entirely sure what that involves). Surely though at the very least, the person installing the certificate should be checking that they've done it properly?

As I say, the support we receive is usually very good but on this one thing it seems to always, always fall down.

    Cheers,

    Paul

    Dear Paul,

Please let us know the exact ticket number in which you have requested us to install these 5 SSL certificates so that we can check them and will take the necessary actions if in case they are still not being correctly installed or else I'd like to request you to please re-open those tickets so that they will be taken care of.

    Hi Victor.

The ticket number for the current request is #XPE-288-88775.

We're only having one certificate installed at the moment, I was saying that we've had 4 previously installed and none of them were correct the first time round and it's happened again in this case.

    Thanks for looking at this,

    Paul

just to +1 this really.. support is generally excellent but the ssl is a real pita..

not only is it almost impossible to mark these up and make a profit, it takes 2 -3 day in general and endless back and forth emails.

my favourite bug bear is IP addresses. If we purchase though EUKhost we get a free IP with the cert.. great. However, if there is a free IP on the server (which we normally have some service running on and is excluded from apache) you can guarantee that the ssl will get attached this this.. if you then need to replace the IP it will cost me £20 a year. grrr

after 20 emails back and forth you then cant be bothered to take issue with it.

    [disclaimer]
I am nit picking, if you are a potential EUKhost client...

Can't say I've ever had any personal experience with regards to eUK and SSL. Does seem like its been an issue for a few people though. I have confidence that eUKhost will investigate and rectify this issue .

Hope all your SSL problems on your servers are now resolved .
