Thread: Cpanel Access

    Question Cpanel Access

    Hi,

I'm very new to website hosting creation/webhosting etc. so please excuse me if I ask dumb questions!

I set up a Copper Cpanel hosting package yesterday and (I believe) successfully directed a seperate domain name to it. My aim is to set-up a Wordpress blog, and thus I need to set up a MySQL database. However, in order to do this I need to access Cpanel.

When I signed up I believed that Cpanel was included in the package, but I cannot find a way to access it. I've looked in my eukhost.com/mb control panel and trawled through eukhost.com/support, as well as the forums and the knowledgebase but I still cannot find a way to access it.

Is it something I need to install/pay for separately?

    Can anyone help?

you should be able to acces it by www.MYDOMAIN.com/cpanel or by http://ipaddress:2082

    Thankyou, thats all sorted now!

I now have new issues! Please let me know if i'm supposed to open a new thread to ask about these, i'm unsure of the etiqette, but i'll start here:

I want to upload Wordpress to my website hosting using Filezilla. How can I find out which cpanel file is my 'root directory'?
Again, I've had a good trawl through the emails, forums etc, but cannot find a definitive answer...

    Thanks for any help.

No need to upload it - just go to Cpanel then at the bottom is something called Fantastico - click on that and you have access to install all sorts of applications - including Wordpress

From fantastico, in the installation it will ask you about the folder and the root folder in this will be /. However, if you use ftp etc. to access your account on the server, you will initially see lots of other folders. The files for your website hosting are kept in the public_html folder on the server.
