Not sure how serious you're being, but if my RC1 installation continues working as it is now I certainly will.

Currently got it set up as a dual boot option on my laptop. Only application that I haven't tried yet is QuickBooks, and that will be my acid test. Might be a good excuse to try the XP compatibility mode.

Last time it was re-booted was Sunday afternoon, it's been put into hibernation 10 times since then and been active for between 35 and 40 hours in that time.

I shall re-install Vista on the other partion soon, just so I can get a realisting comparison between the 2 OSs. Vista's been installed over 18 months with all sorts of stuff installed and un-installed or upgraded, so a frshh install would be a better like for like comparison.

    Nope.

After the debacle when Vista first came out and me paying a fortune for it I will not be making the same mistake twice.

I'll wait a year till all the bugs are out of it, it has a first service pack and it costs something realistic (probably a good £200 cheaper than when it first comes out!).

Are you looking to upgrade or buy a new copy? Assuming an upgrade, I don't think you're likely to save £200. Best Buy are quoting prices of $49 for Home Premium and $99 for Professional. Assuming the official exchange rate stays above $1.50 = £1, we should be able to maintain a $1 = £1 for software sales. I don't somehow think MS will pay you £100 to upgrade

I just get a student upgrade on the cheap. And that day of release can't come soon enough so I can ditch Vista and get some speed back on this laptop! Windows 7 runs lightening fast compared to this...

Well maybe that was a *slight* exaggeration. However I am likely to save money and get a more stable (service packed) operating system when I decide to upgrade.
