MySQL timeouts/usage problems

I seem to get timeouts on a regular basis when using PHPMyAdmin and EMS MySQL Manager 2005 Lite usually takes a few repeat tries till i can actually insert or edit something in my database..

Anyone have any ideas why this is happening or can recommend a good program for doing my database updating & editing? Have used Live Support a few times but never end up with a solution.

I must admit ive not been having any time outs on MySQL but why pay for external software Phpmyadmin is included and works perfectly fine.
