I had my Linux dedicated server setup with eUKhost 17th November and all was good until around 8:00pm 20th November where my sites went down for about 25 minutes due to the network going down at BlueSquare Datacenter... well this is what I was told by George in Live Chat anyway. Not looking good tbh. The server with my last host has had 100% uptime for 9 weeks and is still up now. The dedicated server doesn't terminate until 25th November so I can prove uptime if needed by providing IP address. Will eUKhost network go down again? I hope not...
That said, eUKhost team have installed everything I have asked to be installed like ffmpeg tools plus have even secured my server for me, which is needed as I will be reselling shared hosting accounts. And best part is it didn't cost me anything extra. Other hosts can charge ridiculous amounts of money for this to be done.
Although sometimes the support response times are a little slow in support ticket system/live chat it is worth the wait because they definitely know what they are doing. For example I wanted to remove php.ini from many directories at once without having to delete each one, one by one. I asked if i could use SSH command and they told me
Operater: cd /home7/xxxxxx/public_html/
Operater: then fire the command
Operater: find . -name php.ini | xargs rm -rf
That saved me a lot of time.
Its all very well having good support/server but if the network goes down after just 3 days and keeps doing it I will loose many customers fast.
Why did the network go down?
Regards,
Chris
