    Default Transfering Domains or hosting

    Hi,

Got my vps server now and I still have no billing setup up but will be looking at awbs hopefully tomorrow.

In the meantime I have a customer who wants to move his domain(or website to my vps server).

Now do I point his domain to my namedservers if so how do I do this or do I need to do something else.

On a steep learning curve, but I am getting there, with everyones help.

    Thanks

    Hi Wayne,

You should point nameservers of your customers domain to the nameservers which have been set in your WHM. Your default nameservers are :-

    ns1.w**hosting.co.uk
    ns2.w**hosting.co.uk

Add their domain name from your WHM. You should first add all your hosting plans from "Add Packages" section of your WHM and then add customers account from "Create a New Account" section.

You should forward cpanel login details to your customer once you add their account in your WHM.

We have a nice site search option on our homepage which will help you to find answers for all your technical questions. You can type any question you may have in the search box and you will get most appropriate results displayed on the results page.

    Hi thanks for the response,

as for the search on the home page for the answers, the search is only as good as the words used, a human interface can often interpret better than automated searches.

to that end some forums suggest you search on google rather than their own search and include certain terms, that I admit is wierd but seems to work.

I am sure I looked here first before aasking on the firum, i will get better.

I havent actually got all my packages set up yet as I am finding it difficult to work ot what is the best to offer. However thisn is not a major issue as its more of favour and trial than hard business.

If I need to point his current name servers to mine, then do I not need to know how he set up his domain so we can change the name servers?

hope this is readable as i have had a class or two of some very nice wine and feel a tad stretched.

    Thanks
