    Hi,
Does anyone have any recommendations on uptime checkers?

I have my own one which is at www.monitor.checker-design.com. It uses 9 monitoring stations around the world with email and SMS notifications if things go down. Does uptime report etc. as well

Is that based on another software?

It is indeed based on another system of a company. But I'm trying to get people to use the system as it means I can undercut that systems price! So it means cheaper monitoring for everyone!

    (reserects old post)

I use siteuptime because it's free for one monitor. I have it send a message to my Orange email address because they offer a free email to text server (even for PAYG customers). It seems to work well.

I'll look into the other options listed above though since my free siteuptime account only monitors every 30mins.

    Cheers for the info.

(I just re-read that post and it makes me sound really cheap!)

Ive found that AlertX is a really affordable solution. I can set my own email alerts and I really havent found better priced packages anywhere else on the internet.

I hope you don't mind me asking but what is the nature of your relationship with AlertX?

hi, i use a script called flutter server status. it doesn't multiple port polling on configurable ports for local and remote servers. it tracks up time and number of users logged in. it works pretty well but i think i had to tweak it some to get it to look like i wanted it to.
