1and1 Transfer domain out

I have a domain that someone bought and they have yet initiated the transfer request from their registrar. I was wondering as a general question that if you transfer a domain OUT of 1and1 do you still need to Fax that stupid paper in with identification?

If you already have an account with EUKhost, you can simply contact your previous domain registrar and ask them to transfer the domain under our registry, pay the applicable charges for domain transfer and our billing dept will do the needful. No documents will be required in this process.

If the domain name is under your ownership. You won't have to prove or provide any Fax for identification. You will only have to see that the whois contact details for the domain contains your correct information. i.e the domains whois admin contact email address should have your email address.
