Something is weirdly wrong with one of my domain transfers.
Background:
· it is a co.uk domain
· it was in 'renewal required' status on my old host and I transferred it to eukhost
· when it transferred into eukhost (yesterday morning), I noticed that, unlike all the other domains listed in my client area which I'd just registered, its 'Next Due Date' hadn't updated (it still read the old expiry date - 23/03/2009). A billing exec manually updated it for me.
· All the registry information for the domain has been updated: registrant details, registrar, tag, nameservers, hostname rdns, etc. Everything is correct in the whois.
· I've parked the domain on my vps account and have got email redirection working. The DNS zone for it looks good. Everything is working except:
Problem:
Here is the weirdness; I cannot get the domain to point to my new eukhost IP Address....
· The IP address in the whois has not changed. So in a web browser, the domain still directs to the old server on the old host, where there is now a holding page (because i closed my account with them). If I ping the domain, the old ip address is pinged.
· Also, the status of the domain in the whois results is 'Renewal request being processed'.
Now, I haven't waited 48 hours yet (only 24 hours), so there is that to consider. But propagation has never taken this long before, and it's so weird how all the other information (including the nameservers!) is being correctly displayed on the whois. It's simply that the IP address refuses to change!
Is there actually a problem? Or am I just being too impatient with nominet?
If there is a problem, what on earth could it be?
Thanks
