Default To ENOM account or not ?

    Hi,

I hope to be buying some new domains soon, but I have a few questions if anyone can help:

I can get a free enom account here with EUKHOST with their vps hosting or reseller package, but having searched around a bit, I am not clear on:

    * Do you need to deposit funds in your enom account or would the domain cost be directly taken from paypal/credit card ? (Some search links say deposit, some say no deposit)

    * What benefit would I get over ordering some domains with my free enom account over just using, say EUKHOST to order the domains ? Would it be slightly cheaper / no difference ?

    * Are there any ongoing or hidden fees with the enom account ?

    Thanks in advance

    Andy

    Hello Andy,

    1) You have to refill your ENOM Reseller account with the minimum $100.00. This amount will be utilized for domain registration/renewals as well as transfers. Payment options to refill the Enom account are Credit Card, PayPal, Check and Wire Transfer.

    2) Enom Reseller Account is itself a separate account for domain registration/renewals/transfers. If you have an Enom account, you won't have to pay to eUKhost for your domain registration/renewals/transfers. Here, you can directly register the domains from your own Enom account. You can also create sub accounts for your customers from your Enom account.

    3) You can register 1st TLd Domains like .com, .net, .org, .biz for less than £5.00 GBP per year. There are no hidden fees from Enom.

Let me know if I can help you with some more details.

    Thank You.

    Hi,

    Thanks for the reply.

So, I could seed an enon account with $100, and just leave it there - it is not a $100 minimum per year?

On a slight tangent, is there anywhere that would, for example, give a template to allow someone to check a domains availability and then buy it if required - e.g. would there be some kind of passthrough to enom for that, or a zencart plugin ?

    Thanks

    Andy

    Hello,

You have to refill $100 each time you run out of credit. For example, you will initially need to fill in $100, but when that $100 runs out, you will need to refill another $100. You can't refill smaller amounts.

I'm not overly familiar with zen cart, but as ENOM is one of the biggest domain providers in the World, I imagine any self respecting software author would include an ENOM plugin. WHMCS, which we use, has the capability you have mentioned.

If you have problems installing a script, you may contact our developers and they will assist you with it, if possible.
    Kind Regards,
