Thread: Glue Records

    Default Glue Records

    Hi Guys,

Does anyone know where the option for creating glue records has moved to, or has it been removed and why?

It used to be called "register nameservers"

I am currently in contact with online chat who clearly do not know what a glue record is.

I really apologize for the inconvenience you have been through. We used to have the option 'Register Nameserver's' in client area so that client can create private nameserver's, modify the nameserver's IP address and delete the nameserver. I appreciate you for making us aware of the un-availability of this feature.

I've informed our In-house Development team to get this option enabled so that no one faces this issue in near future.

    Hi Aaron,

Do you know how long this will take?

The information I am getting in email is this

"I apologise for the delay in reply.

Kindly let us know the IPs so that we can register private NS for you.

    ns1.mydomain.eu--primary IP
    ns2.mydomain.eu--secondary IP

You are not able to register private NS from domain control panel however you can update it from domain control panel like I have mentioned above for .eu domain.

Kindly let us know if you are still receiving any error, we will do it on your behalf.
    "
I was told previously that through the Enom panel I could create private nameservers, now I am being told that I cannot. I am now also being told that once created I can edit them through that panel which is also not the case as I already have existing glue records for another domain which I cannot edit through that panel.

If it is the case that I have to contact support each time to make such changes then I will simply transfer my domains elsewhere,

    Thanks,

    Sean.

    Hello Sean,

The option for "register nameservers" was removed from the client area. As there are different steps which needs to be followed for respective TLD's, CCTLD's etc. Accordingly, when someone tries to register the nameservers from the client area, he could register the Nameserver for General TLD's. Whereas, nameservers for CCTLD's were not getting registered.

Our In house programmers are working on it. That's the reason currently the option is removed from client area.

Most of the user's are not aware of the procedures to register the Private nameserver as per the registry guidelines and due to which they have to face downtime. As whenever the DNS records are changed for the domain name it does takes 24-48 hrs to fully propagate and after that time they could know that they were not registered properly. Hence, to avoid such delays we have currently disabled the option and would suggest that you can contact us 24X7 to get the Nameservers properly registered as well as pointed to the respective domain name.

The nameservers cannot be registered from the access enom account. It has to be done from Parent registrar account.
