I've always got some good names out of randomness. For example 'Flesso' was thought of at a random moment in time, when I was typing random things into Google translate. I also find that you get some good names if you think of something and cut out certain letters in the word(s); an example being 'BluQue'.

You have got a point with that. Also if you mange to make up your own words and phrases it is easy to get a domain name with the same name in popular TLDs whereas most common phrases are taken nowadays.

There are a lot of good .com domain names still available and finding those domains can be a wonderfully creative exercise. Try flipping through the dictionary looking for weird words and you'll find a bunch that would make good domain names.

Yep, there are quite a few Domain Name suggestion tools like DomainTools, DomainIt and NameBoy to help you find good domains that are available.

Cheers for that Ryan. I assume these are all online tools that you have to use to check.

I was wondering whether there was a software tool that you could download that could automatically update a list of recently expired domain names or monitor certain domain names? .

The ones mentioned above are online domain name suggestion tools you can use to check the available domains. I am not aware if there is any software or tool available to download on your local machine and get updated lists of recently expired domains.

However you can log on to justdropped.com and snapnames.com to receive a daily list of all deleted/expired domains.

Also nothing bad to get domain like Flickr, reddit, simpy, fark etc that has basically no meaning but hit on webspace through good marketing strategies and branding, by dropping the vowels even you get good brandable domain name, IMO.

I can stand website's like free-mp3-ringtones.com in all honestly the owner has only bought that name to try and make top rankings quickly.....sorry it don't work like that well not as much anymore. How can visitors really remember that name??? unless they bookmarked

i prefer a good old solid domain and hard SEO work carried out can get your status that you require.

eUKhost i don't even know how i thought of that name but as hosting-heaven.co.uk kept expanding i needed to take the business to the next level so keeping with a short easy to remember domain i was able to do that.

my favorite domains i have owned are:

zoole.com - thought it was an excellent name
acoot.co.uk - still own this and think this name has good potential
321mobile.com - was a easy to remember domain which got me high volumes of traffic.

how about you whats the best name of a domain you have owned or know the owner of???

I like that two domain zoole & acoot, though it is difficult to get a mobile name even with digit in .com, I think you could have tried out for few more good name without digit in .mobi extension as well as there are still chances to get some good domain name in .mobi.

I would like to register eukmedia.com that already available, I hope you will permit me to register.
