    Default Nameserver change

New customer of EUK - and general newbie to hosting - all looks good so far....

However, I suspect I've just cocked up; I registered 2 new domains via 123-reg this pm, and it fell over first time through; second time, I think I forgot to change the nameservers - though I've now switched those to EUK from the control panel. The question is how long is it likely to be before those point the right way?

Secondly, what is the simple way to register a new name through EUK within a reseller's account?

    Hello peabrain,

If you have already registered and pointed the domain to our name servers, it will take about 12- 24 hours to get the DNS propagated globally.

You can register new domain with us online by visiting our website or you can also register it from your clients area. The simplest way is to contact us via live chat or you can place an email at our billing department with the domain name which you wish to register so that we can check its availability and send you the invoice accordingly.

You can register any new domains or name servers from your WHMCS, billing interface under your account or by getting in touch with our Billing Dept, either through live chat support or email.. Good luck..

That was fast - and seemingly good news; Thanks.

I was concerned because I have seen somewhere recently about not being able to set up a site that had been registered elsewhere within the last x days - I assume this is not a problem then

We do not have any such restrictions. You can register domain names with other registrar and host them with us right away by pointing their nameservers to us.

No worries, you can host all required domains at eUKhost nomatter whether they are registered at eUKhost or with some other registrar, you just need to update nameservers in case if they are not with eUKhost.

Once you signup for the hosting package you will receive the Nameserver details with the Login details of the server/package you have purchased. Once you receive the Nameserver details you can contact your Existing Domain name registrar and update the Nameservers. You will be able to update the Nameservers on your own if you have been given those permissions from your Existing Domain name registrar.

Just make sure you do the DNS part correctly with your domain registrar (the one who registered the domain for you). Just so you know, the domain will take around 24hrs to fully propagate to the nameservers.

If you need any help setting the DNS please let us know, we'll be happy to help.

Just to say all went fine, and thanks for the quick responses. I was a little concerned because when I transferred an existing domain's nameservers it seemed more or less instant (well, 10 mins or so) to switch from the 123 web forward address to the new one, but I got the default 123 page for nearly 24 hours after I switched the brand new ones. Not a problem, just a brief panic!

No doubts! It's a known issue with 123 reg as far as I know.

Generally their parking page is seen for around a day or so when it comes to registering new nameservers. But anyways, glad to know you got it working.
