    Default "Parking" a Domain

Ok, so what does it mean, exactly, to "park" a domain? Does it just mean coming up with a good name and claiming it as your own?

Domain parking is the registration of a domain name without using it for services such as e-mail or setting up a website. This is usually done to reserve the domain name for future development.

Parking a domain name uses minimum resources of the hosting plan as the parked domains are not used for any purpose. Therefore, we allow unlimited parked domains with all our hosting plans.

So, that is basically just holding the spot, then? Once you do something with the domain, it is no longer considered parked, right? Just making sure I understand...

That's right. Domain parking lets you reserve a domain name for future use and once it is put to use, it is no longer considered as 'parked'.

Parked Domain is something where after you've registered a domain name but haven't pointed it to some website. It is simply "parked" at the registrar's site with a generic "coming soon" type of page that visitors would see upon accessing the URL.

Interesting. I though before that I knew what a parked domain is. So, does it mean that a parked domain always has a webpage it points to? What about a registered domain which points you to nowhere other than the 'Oops! Google Chrome could not find the page?

It's not necessary that a parked domain points to a webpage. However, most of the users who own parked domains keep it redirected to a page as the error you mentioned does not leave a very good impression on the visitor regarding the domain.
