Did I read somewhere that there was a maximum size for databases? If yes, what is it?

You may want to check this link Only Express Edition of MSSQL has limits.. else others have no limits..

You're welcome We do have limitations setup on our Windows Shared Hosting plans.. nothing such on VPS, Semi-Dedicated or Dedicated plans..
