I read this on another VPS forum, it could explain why my VPS has deteriorated over the last few months.

(We are coming up with cloud hosting concept in few days which will give you 100% uptime. We have tried everything possible to give better uptime for VPS customers, but the R/W process is very complicated on the VPS nodes and this uneven Read / Write process results in fast deterioration of Hard Drives. Nodes take long time to come online after reboot due to this uneven R/W problem. No other VPS hosting provider can give you better uptime due to this problem associated with Virtualization. Our shared hosting, reseller hosting and dedicated server hosting customers get more than 99.98% uptime, but VPS customers never manage to see that level of consistency in uptime.
Cloud hosting concept will eliminate all these problems and failure of one server will make no difference to any of the VPS's hosted on the cluster. We will inform all our customers once we are done with testing of the new cluster.)

During the first 6 to 9 months performance of my VPS was reasonable, the last few months it has slowed to a crawl, support have checked it on numerous occasions only to report that everything is OK, it never is.
eukSam has offered to move my VPS on to a new node, if this would permanently solve my problems I would agree, but I envisage the same problems returning in the near future.

    Hello Bill,

The concept of cloud hosting will surely give you a good performance & uptime. Eukhost is also working on cloud hosting. The R/W creates lots of problem on the VPS nodes & degrades the Drives.

As I said in the last post, you can have a new vps on a new hardware node which will give you good performance.

spooky, I am in exactly the same situation. I was generally happy with my VPS which is now crawling at a snails pace and have been made the same offer to move to a new VPS which I have just raised a ticket to accept. I performed a replica installation of Magento in the new VPS which was about twice as fast as on my existing server.. However, the implication of your post that this will also slow down over time does not fill me with hope.

The tech bods are great but I am getting tired of being told that all is well while banging my head off the wall waiting for the server to respond to a command only to be told the next day that there is a reason for the slow down after all. arggg

It has been a frustrating few days of constant battle with my server trying to get it to do what I want.

Hope the new VPS stays as fast as it is at the moment.

I wish I had enough cash for a shiny new semi or dedicated server

    Hello,

We are in the process of migrating VPS's from the current hardware node to the new hardware node with higher configuration to ensure better performance.

We have received your complaint and we have received similar complaints from other clients hosted on the same server.

Hence, we would proceed with the migration as soon as possible.

    Thank you for your Co-operation.

    Regards,
    Ken.
