    Default Nameserver Issues

    I wondered if anybody has any ideas or if anyone from EUKHOST can help?

    I have a linux VPS with WHM/cPanel and should have nameservers set up as follows:

    NS1.BAXTERMEDIAHOSTING.CO.UK = 213.175.202.4
    NS2.BAXTERMEDIAHOSTING.CO.UK = 213.175.202.5

    the domain baxtermediahosting.co.uk was registered with 123-REG and the nameservers had been set up for a few weeks.
    Most of my .co.uk domains I look after for clients and held in a 123-reg account were fine when I changed their nameservers to those above, apart from a .com which said the nameservers were not registered when I tried to update it's records.

    I contacted EUKHOST who confirmed that everything was set up correctly on the VPS and suggested the problem may be at 123-reg. I contacted them and they insisted that the Nameservers were set up correctly and had propagated but couldn't explain why I couldn't add these records to the .com or why when trying to update a domain registered with 34sp it was impossible as they said the nameservers were not responding.

    So I moved the domain to FASTHOSTS, re-applied the nameservers and had them update the GLUE records and have now managed to transfer the .com even though it did say the nameservers may not exist. I still can't do the one in the 34sp account though as it still says the nameservers did not respond.

    A check on Network-Tools says that the nameservers do point to the correct IP addresses but also says that they did not respond.

    So does anyone have any ideas? Anything else to check?

    Thanks in advance, I hope all the above makes sense!

    We're glad to hear that We did check every possibility & it appeared to be correct.. I think this was related with DNS propagation..

    It is common to hear DNS issues with 123-Reg. But glad to know it's all working now..

    It seems that not all is working still!

    NS1 is fine, however i'm getting a message saying that NS2 is not responding but not entirely sure why?
    In WHM>Edit DNS Zone I can see a DNS record for NS1 - should there be one for NS2?

    Thanks in advance again!

    Hello,

    We have added the necessary A record entries for ns2 nameserver. You will now be able to see it in "Edit DNS Zone" option.
