    Default Remote MySQL

    Hi -

I have a Linux semi dedicated and I am trying to connect to a MySQL DB via NaviCat to migrate some data.

I have a static IP and set it in MySQL remote hosts for the account.

As the connection did not work, I tried a few variations and even % (briefly).

Is remote access a restriction on MySQL for semi-dedicated servers?

    Thanks,

    MyLama

    Hello MyLama,

There is no restriction on remote MySQL connections on semi dedicated server. I think there might be problem with your local settings.

    Hi David,

MySQL uses port 3306 for remote connection, which is not allowed in the firewall. I have now enabled it on your semi-dedicated server. You should
be able to access MySQL remotely now.
