Default Shared SSL on Windows VPS

Hi there, just starting using a Windows VPS and I've a couple of non-client services (Subversion, Jira) that I want to make available over http: via apache. I'd like to secure their logins via https: and I wanted to know if the package came with a Shared SSL certificate, or do I have to create a self-signed one and use that.

I know I can purchase a dedicated SSL cert but I really don't need that just yet, I'm happy to use a self-cert or shared-cert for now as the access is not for our clients.

You can simply generate a self signed SSL certificate (generated from the server) from the control panel of your VPS & install the SSL on the VPS hostname. There is not a valid Certificate Authority assigned with this SSL so anybody trying to connect to it will get a "Certificate Not Trusted" warning.
