    Question SSH connection problem

Hi, I am having trouble connecting to my VPS using SSH (Jellyfissh on mac and Putty on win). I used to manage it fine. I try logging in as a wheel group user that has normal ssh permissions, it prompts for the password, then says "permission denied, please try again" and prompts for the password again. It IS the correct password, I've set it and changed it, I've tried giving another user Shell access and that does the same thing. The saved settings in the JellyFissh app are for port 22. I haven't changed it, the only thing I can think of is the CSF/LFD firewall that is installed (v5.07), but I've added my IP to the trusted list, and I've tried disabling it completely and still get the same problem. Another VPS I have uses port 8888 but that doesn't work. I get a Network Error when I try on port 8888 but a password prompt when I try on port 22.

    Hello,

This type of issue is usually caused on a VPS when there is problem with openssh package. The root password works for WHM but it does not work for SSH (including any other user with SSH access). In this case we reinstall the openssh package on the vps to resolve the issue.

We have reinstalled openssh on your VPS, now you can try to login to SSH.
