Default Virgin Media client slow SMTP to VPS

    Hi

Bit of a strange one this!

My VPS is hosting around 20ish domains for individual clients. Each client has one POP/SMTP mailbox and they are light-use, limited to 50 outgoing per hour but never getting anywhere near that.

I have one client whose ISP is Virgin Media who is reporting extremely long waits and timeouts when sending mail.

No complaints from other clients (ISPs unknown), and I'm also using several mailboxes on the same VPS without difficulty.

As a precaution I've restarted Exim and POP (product name escapes me) and SPAMD. = no change.

Anyone have any suggestions for further diagnosis?

    Thanks!

I had similar problem with one of the ISP's and the Network Admin switched to another ISP to resolve this problem. You can't do anything besides using a proxy if you encounter such problem due to the ISP. We can help if the emails stop working completely, but there's no problem with our Network or Servers if it takes time to download or send the emails.

Yes - luckily my client has a 3G hotspot he can use which is how we pinned the fault to Virgin.

The problem is ... where to start with further diagnosis!

He's reported to Virgin and is pending an answer, but not holding out much hope.
