VPS lost of web content data - Joomla and WordPress

Hello users,

We had recently some issues with our VPS, we lost web content data of 4 domains and subdomains that were based on Joomla and WordPress. The data gets corrupted and all the files were wiped out.

I want to see with you if you had the same issue?

Have you searched why the data on your VPS gets corrupted and files wipe out.

Do you have backup of data which has been lost.

Did you not setup a remote backup on your VPS?
We have an offsite backup running every morning at 3AM.

I know we have spoken on this subject before, but I am keen to learn whether we were alone or it was something much bigger.
I had lost about a weeks worth of data across 5 Wordpress sites also losing an email account, all the SEO work on my own site and various other changes. This was only discovered the day after the automatic weekly backup. So could not restore information.
So if anyone else has experienced similar issues please let us know what was the cause or how you recovered the situation.
Can anyone recommend a cost effective VPS backup solution to help ensure this does not happen again.

I don't know exactly what happen? No clue, the support was not able to trace the issue neither the reason. The only fact that I have is that all the files of my web content were wiped.
