Default VPS ram question & upgrade

Hi there I'm thinking of signing up for a VPS package and I'd like to know what happens if guaranteed RAM gets exceeded. I would be deploying a web app that uses a few custom things, glassfish application server probably being the most memory hungry of them. It runs between 250 - 400MB usually but this could spike with heavy traffic and during administration.

Is the W-VPS-01 package suitable for such an app?

If I find the RAM / speed etc. inadequate or has problems is it possible to simple upgrade without losing the server setup (installed applications etc.)?

Oh and would it be easy to transfer to a different package such as cloud or dedicated service if necessary?

    Thanks.

    Hello,

Currently we are providing Hyper-V based Windows VPS which is a hardware virtualization. If the VPS exceeds the assigned RAM, in that case your application may stop working & your VPS will become inaccessible. Upgrading the VPS resources is an easy task which just needs a reboot for the upgrade after adding extra resources.

Ok thanks, I'll review my options and may well go for that basic VPS to begin with, only way I can really check memory usage on a server is by actually testing.

Yes, that would be fine. You can consider our level 1 VPS hosting package for now and upgrade if you need more resources in future. Upgrading the VPS would be very easy for you as you only have to contact our billing department and make the payment of the price difference between the two VPS hosting packages and our billing department will take care of the rest. The upgrade process won't involve any downtime which is an additional benefit
