So I try and install "apt-show-versions" , but as I do – I get the error "The following packages have unmet dependencies: apt-show-versions: Depends: libapt-pkg-perl (>= 0.1.21) but it is not going to be installed
E: Unmet dependencies. Try 'apt-get -f install' with no packages (or specify a solution)."
...so I try and install libapt-pkg-perl, but it tells me it won't do it without apt-show-versions ....chicken egg sort of stuff...
So – I can't install one without the other...so it would appear.
Any help in getting me out of this circular issue would be greatly appreciated.
I'm a newbie – (obviously!) and have spent the last 2 or 3 hours trying to sort it myself, but can't find out what to do when one dependency depends on another dependancy.
As I said – any assistance greatly appreciated.
