    Smile cPanel 11.25 Unveiled !!!

    cPanel releases 11.25.0:

This release represents more than a full year's worth of collaborative effort from the entire cPanel team. The changes, updates, and features are too numerous. Let me make you aware of some very valuable resources related to this release. In 11.25.0 over 50% more of the code base was touched in comparison to 11.24. While the version has only incrementally moved up .1, this is considered a "Major" release.

Here are few of it's best features:

    • Lightening the load on your server, this release provides a host of enhancements which can lighten server load, resulting in faster response times. RoundCube webmail can now operate using the lightweight SQLite database engine & the cPanel log daemon (cpanellogd) more robust, preventing delays in log processing and a resulting over-consumption of memory due to missing dependencies. In 11.25.0, you can now configure account transfers between servers to skip the user's home directory, speeding up the transfer time, and account creation is faster, due to a more efficient httpd.conf generation process.

    • Optimized Apache, queuing restarts & improved httpd.conf generation times, making Apache configuration faster than ever before.

    • Mail upgrades, which has the optimized Courier and Dovecot mail server authentication libraries, to reduce authentication engine memory usage and startup time, increasing the efficiency of mail delivery. Exim's quota lookup process has been streamlined, for faster response times. In addition, Exim is now able to use a single process to listen on multiple ports, reducing RAM and CPU usage.

    • DNS Clustering Enhancements
    • XML API Updates
    • Improved IMAP Support for Mobile Devices
    • Refined User Interfaces
    • MySQL Support and The Upgrade Interface

    • Enhancements for resellers and administrators
    • Language system improvements

    • Security Enhancements, which applies blank referer checks to further guard against XSRF exploits, and upgraded cPHulk to make your server even more resistant to DoS attacks & many more..

It's fully expected to be a relatively trouble free update and that 11.25.0 once again sets the bar for a quality release..

Product release notes are available at the following locations: docs.cpanel.net/twiki/bin/view/AllDocumentation/ReleaseNotes

It is highly recommended that if you plan on upgrading that you review these notes in advance.

    Mine auto updated too...

Had a few services fail to start, even automagically, but a graceful reboot seems to have sorted things.

Yes, I too have read few negative reviews about the upgrade caused problems for few users, but for the rest it went smoothly.

Try this in case you face any issues after the upgrade:
Clear the browser cache completely in case of cached version of the old pages of control panel, webmail, etc which may cause access problems from within the browser itself.

Or try the following from the SSH directly in case of an erroneous upgrade:
    /scripts/upcp --force

    Auto upgraded here, seems fine.

A few weird ones, all our direct links to our latest visitors pages changed, I think these were on an old version of the Cpanel theme whch seems to no longer be available.

Nice to hear that the upgrades went well for almost 95%. There were few minor changes in the interface & settings due to the major version of the control panel being released, without affecting much of a general manoeuvrability of its users..

Since this issue has to do with cpanel and specialy with the new version i will write it here.

After i upgrade i tried to upload a database from the backup's section and it didn't work.
I solved my problem by uploading the database from phpmyadmin but i wonder what is going to happen when the database is a really big one ?

Did uploading/restoring the database from the Backup's section throw any error/warning message? I doubt on hearing about any such bug in this release, but we can have a wayout on this issue..

No there was no error or warning.

I also tried the same on one of your shared servers (one of my customers bought an account a few days ago) and i got the same result.
No error message or warning but no database uploaded.

This version of CPanel is showing as a "TRIAL" version on my server now.

It also warns that it will expire soon.

    Please fix it fellas
    Cheers
