cPanel releases 11.25.0:
This release represents more than a full year's worth of collaborative effort from the entire cPanel team. The changes, updates, and features are too numerous. Let me make you aware of some very valuable resources related to this release. In 11.25.0 over 50% more of the code base was touched in comparison to 11.24. While the version has only incrementally moved up .1, this is considered a "Major" release.
Here are few of it's best features:
- Lightening the load on your server, this release provides a host of enhancements which can lighten server load, resulting in faster response times. RoundCube webmail can now operate using the lightweight SQLite database engine & the cPanel log daemon (cpanellogd) more robust, preventing delays in log processing and a resulting over-consumption of memory due to missing dependencies. In 11.25.0, you can now configure account transfers between servers to skip the user's home directory, speeding up the transfer time, and account creation is faster, due to a more efficient httpd.conf generation process.
- Optimized Apache, queuing restarts & improved httpd.conf generation times, making Apache configuration faster than ever before.
- Mail upgrades, which has the optimized Courier and Dovecot mail server authentication libraries, to reduce authentication engine memory usage and startup time, increasing the efficiency of mail delivery. Exim's quota lookup process has been streamlined, for faster response times. In addition, Exim is now able to use a single process to listen on multiple ports, reducing RAM and CPU usage.
- DNS Clustering Enhancements
- XML API Updates
- Improved IMAP Support for Mobile Devices
- Refined User Interfaces
- MySQL Support and The Upgrade Interface
- Enhancements for resellers and administrators
- Language system improvements
- Security Enhancements, which applies blank referer checks to further guard against XSRF exploits, and upgraded cPHulk to make your server even more resistant to DoS attacks & many more..
It's fully expected to be a relatively trouble free update and that 11.25.0 once again sets the bar for a quality release..
