Thread: IPv6

    Default IPv6

    Hi,
I did send an email in, but thought it may be better to get some discussion going on here.
The question was simple, when will eukhost start supporting IPv6 fully, we all know that IPv4 address's are running out (well we should have known that for quite some time, it's not a new issue!)

The last /8 was given out to the RIR's now so it should be pushed a little hight up the priority list.

The main issue with take up (in my opinion) is the lack of affordable consumer class IPv6 enabled kit in the market, with manufacturers seeming to be in no hurry at all. This then leads to others saying well there is no kit so we wont sort our network out just yet, plenty of time... a little of a "Chicken and egg" scenario.

In saying that what are the plans for eukhost?

    Default IPv6 IP addresses

It is not yet decided from our side about when will we start providing IPv6 IP addresses. But we will let all our clients know once we start providing IPv6 IP addresses.

Not too long I hope as the cycle has to be broken with some companies making a start rather than waiting until others make their move.

    Hi,

Our network is fully ready for IPV6, so it's just a matter of deciding when we will start dishing them out. Sooner rather than later though!

Being stingy with IPs isn't something we enjoy
    Kind Regards,
