Ajax??

I know this is a chat for your website/forum but is it just like a regular chatroom or is their a difference? I'm interested in a chatroom but have seen this offered for forums and am getting confused, if someone could explain the two I would appreciate it!

If you are referring to AJAX based chat room scripts then it can be used on various websites which maybe a forum, blog, an official business website etc.

People here would be able to help you better if you could elaborate the topic a bit more.

Well I am hoping to have a forum on my website and have been trying to read up on a lot of things. I came across some forum that you can use "Ajax" chat on and also some other kind of chat (forget the name now) but you could put a 'button' for the Ajax chat on the forum. Since I am not very experience with this, just wondered if someone here would know more about it?

If you notice carefully, you'll find a similar tool (chatroom) here at this forum. This is an AJAX based tool which can be installed using a simple plugin. You would find multiple such plugins which would help you suffice your requirements.
