catalina.out is always empty!

HII,

when using tail -f for catalina.out, the file is empty. I restarted tomcat. but nothing have been changed. If anybody can help me.

Generally, the below files are being referred for the tomcat logs.

/usr/local/jakarta/tomcat/logs/catalina.out
/usr/local/jakarta/tomcat/logs/catalina.err

If they are not logging out any information/logs then there might be some problem with your tomcat installation/configuration.

I suggest that you should open a support ticket for this issue with the complete information like domain name, server IP address and its root login details so that our senior admins will look into it further for you...

Thank u , but i think i resolved this issue by editing /WEB-INF/classes/log4j.properties.
