Java Script in Rails

Hi,

I m developing a social networking website for mothers chennaimoms.com before i dont have more experience to develop dynamic website. So i have lot of queries about rails. Please help me to solve my problems..

I want to use tab for submentu in our home page ,but whatever java script i use our signup not popup is not working and tab also not display in I.E but i must want to finish this...so please suggest me any good javascript for tab creation also it should not be affect our signup popups not only signup popup any kind of popups in our website..
