Hiya,

Last week while Victorious was down I obviously was looking for solutions on how to counter this in future.

Currently I have 1 client which requires very very high avalibility. They use 2 dedicated servers which constantly mirror / load balanace and pick up the slack should one fail all automatically.

When Victorious went down, I was abit surprised that this wasnt already the case with the EUK reseller servers. So I spoke to Ryan as to how I would be able to get the level of service.

Unfortunately they are unable to offer this service to an individual Resellers only if I was to purchase a dedicated to myself, I am however willing to pay for 2 accounts but at this point cant justify a dedicated server to myself.

If EUK was to offer the same Linux reseller packages at double the price would people be willing to pay if this meant they could be confidence in the avalibility of a redundant server?

Apologies, but as of now, we do not provide/support mirror / load balanace solutions for shared/reseller or VPS hosting accounts.
If you need a Load Balancer/Mirror servers solution, then you need to consider a dedicated server.

Hi Rob,

I would like to hear from other customers as we can offer such 100% uptime reseller hosting plan if we manage to get at least 25 resellers per cluster. I'm not sure how many customers will consider such 100% uptime plan as only Victorious and Puma had downtime in last 4 - 6 months. Customers hosted on other servers won't consider such plan as no one likes to consider such alternatives unless they see downtime with their websites.

You should reassure your customer and let them know that such problem won't reoccur with Victorious. So far we've had few problems with our new E5420 servers just because of RAID Array. There has been absolutely no problems due to drive failure or High Load.

Im in no way saying your service isnt exemplary, Your response time to any problem/issues is near instant and thats why I use EUK.

I my self work in the IT Support/Consultancy and understand these things happen, and I have no doubt that Victorious will remain up and without issue for atleast the next 6-12 months.

But in the event of something unplanned going wrong, redundancy is always good. Well as per the thread about Victorious LINK a few people would have saved them selves significant refunds if they had invested in redundancy.

I myself am happy to spend a few hundred pounds a year to have a idle server sitting there "just in case" not to have to deal with complaining customers. As im sure numerous other resellers will be interested, as well as the ability to sell it as business level hosting.

I will email all our resellers on weekend to see how many of them are interested in considering such 100% uptime guarantee reseller hosting plan. Probably 95% of our customers never visit our forums, we need to make them aware of how popular eUKhost forum has become in last couple of months.

We already get calls if somebody cannot access the site, even when the problem is with there broadband.

I would be interested in this at a VPS level. Would help considerably with things like DNS as well as keeping my main business site up and running. Depends on the cost though.

100% is an ambitious but admirable target. As Jonathan has stated though, I think many peoples interest will depend very heavily on the price .

All that you need to do is order additional semi-dedicated server or a VPS and contact our VPS team.
