Default need to create an FTP account for one of my add-on domain names

    Hi

I believe I have a reseller Cpanel package. I have several add-on domain names on our space. I need to create an ftp link and username to reflex one of the add-on domain names but it seems I can only create an FTP for the original/main domain name. We have other servers with other companies which allow us to do this, but i can't seem to do this for EUkhosts?? Is that the case or am i missing something?

    thanks

    Jason

    Hi Jason,

Whenever you add any addon domain from your main domain's cPanel interface, a default FTP user name will get auto created with the addon domain's folder access. With this FTP user name, you can directly access your addon domain's directory.

If in case, you want to add any additional FTP users for the addon domains then, you'll just need to create them with the main domain name but, make sure that you' are typing/entering the addon domain's folder name in the Directory:/ option like as follows.

    Login: FTP_USER_NAME@your_main_domain.com
    Password:
    Password (Again):
    Directory: public_html/addon_domain's_directory
So ultimately, all the FTP accounts will contain your main domain name in their names, but they will have different directory access levels.

Do let us know if you've any more questions..

    Thanks for the response.

That's what I thought you were going to say. I didn't want the main domain/root domain name in the user name. (FTP_USER_NAME@your_main_domain.com) As it looks i'm unable to change this and it seems by what you have said that i will not be able to change this.

    Ok. Thanks for checking anyway
