    Default POP3 Email Timeouts

    Hiya Guys,

I have a client who once or twice aday gets time outs on POP3 which last for around 10-15minutes.

They can still see their website, they can still send email - its just receiving which is a problem. Their Outlook is configured using Non-SSL correctly and their line speed it fine but they are using Tiscali.

Firstly can someone tell me which port POP3 uses for SSL? - Im going to try and swap them onto SSL.

Has anyone got anyother ideas? As im gradually drawing a blank.

    Rob.

    Hello,

If you wish to use the secure POP3 connection in order to download emails on your local machine, you will need to use the POP3 mail server as the server's hostname on which your domain is hosted. Also, the secure POP3 port is 995

I would request you to email our support team with your email account and the WAN IP address of you local machine if you encounter the same time issue again.

    Regards,
    Nick J.

    Cheers Nick,

I have asked my client to try using SSL collection, I have also asked him for his current IP. Should he continue to have problems I will log a support ticket.

I did do this when he initially reported a problem, and the guys checked it out - but couldnt see anything wrong. Therefore I put it down to his ISP.

Would just be nice to get it resolved so he doesnt keep being hasselled by his boss

    Thanks
    Rob.

    Hello,

    No problem at all.
Please open a ticket if you experience the same issue again and update the ticket with the above details, we will check it for you.
