    Default Getting very annoyed

I'm beginning to get extremely annoyed with this problem that affect my websites. I don't know if its EUKhost or my VM connection or something else.

What happens is that anything to do with EUKhost just stops working - email, ftp, web browsing, control panel, everything. Its as though the domains just do not exist. Leave it 5 minutes and it all starts working again.

Using IE or FF, VM's own dns or switching to OpenDNS (or whatever its called), makes no difference. It happens frequently, not just occassionally. Other websites that I browse are not affected - just my websites hosted by EUKhost and the EUKhost.com site itself.

What's the best way to try and find out what's happening?

    Hi Paul,

You are VirginMedia customer and we have similar problem for many of our Virginmedia customers. We don't have any solution for this problem atm, as our network engineers have tried everything possible they could do from our side. There's some problem with peering of Virgin network in London which is responsible for this problem.

You will need to contact Virginmedia and ask them to rectify this peering problem, as they need to rectify peering problems in their network.

Only solution that will work for now is to reboot your router when you come across such outage.

I don't understand how the rest of the internet works fine - just eukhost sites that are affected. And I don't need to reboot anything. Just wait a couple of minutes and everything starts working again.

    I'll get on to VM.

Other sites may be affected - they may just not be the sites you are necessarily visiting. I can't say I have ever had a problem with VM but then again, I am and always have been based in Manchester.

I get these problems all the time, they're a pain. When it happens, close everything open to do with eUKhost, and wait about 10 minutes, or reboot your router, it usually resolves the problem.

Yup, as I suspected VM deny all knowledge/responsibility. Nothing to do with them if a website doesn't work.

I really think eukhost needs to do more. After all it is their website that stops working not just mine. And as vm is one of the biggest bb providers in the country I wonder how many of their customers, looking for a web host provide, try eukhost, get nothing, and so go somewhere else.

That's why I switched from Virgin a long time ago, I'm now with http://www.Bethere.co.uk which is much more reliable and usually around 10pm I get speeds of up to 17mb download, which is alot more than VM, usually

I can honestly say I've never had any problems like this with Virgin. Maybe I'm living in a small block of the world where Virgin magically works .

I would rather switch my provider only to view eUKhost.com

    hehe...just kidding...

I am sure there is something on with the network and nothing more. I haven't seen such a problem too.

Trying to get Virgin to admit there is a routing fault is practically impossible. If it could be prove by the DC that it's definately at Virgin's end then maybe we'd get somewhere but you need 100% proof to provide to Virgin regarding it.

If you were getting serious about it, you could complain. The complaint wouldn't be resolved as they would say there isn't an issue and it would go to regulators etc. It would get it sorted but may be drastic.

You need everyone to keep complaining about it and then they might actually look into it...
