Default Help with ftp : I can't get it working.

    Hi,

I'm just trying to ftp some pictures onto my site, "www.pctc.org.uk", unfortunately non of the ftp accounts seem to work.

I've tried a couple of ftp clients, filezilla and gFTP, plus FireFTP in Firefox, I'm positive as I can be of the right password but I still get permission denied.

Now I can log into my cPanel account. So I went to the cPanel file manager and tried to upload images into a directory, it claimed to have completed sucessfully but when I checked in the directory nothing was there.

Finally I went to the FTP accounts in cPanel. In there there is a ftp_log account but no main account. I'm fairly sure that I used the same logon id for FTP as cPanel but it doesn't appear. Have I missed some changes to the FTP accounts? Do I need to create a main FTP account? if so how?

    Any help gratefully received.
ps. I tried searching the forum for "ftp problems" but it ignored ftp in the search because it's too short. So apologies if it has been covered in the past.

    Regards

I have created an FTP account from your cPanel and the new FTP login details has been sent to your registered email address . Also let us know the exact directory name in which you tried to upload images and failed , so that we will check if there any problem with permission on that particular directory .

    Hi,

Many thanks for the rapid response, I hadn't realised the FTP main accounts had been changed. With the new account I've sucessfully loaded the images to the required directory.

    Thanks again,
    Adrian
