Online server stats in cpanel differ from downloaded logs

Hello Everybody,

Did it ever happen to you that the statistics you get in cpanel (e.g awstats) differ from your downloaded logs ?

For me it started yesterday.. I am seeing huge differences in visits, page views.. etc.. between the two.

Edit : I found something interesting..
All logs are supposed to end with .gz extension right ?
Well for this month, I've got two logs, one with the extension, the other without..

I think that the extension problem has been solved. But the stats still do differ.

Domain : Tropicscope.com and Bookmauritius.com
Server Name : server.tropicscope.com
Server IP : 78.129.195.115
Email registered : bernard@bookmauritius.com ( But please don't mail on that)
