Default Changing Main? Domain on Windows Shared Hosting Account

    Hi,

I have just signed up for a Windows Copper Plan and at the same time registered a domain name (call it "domainX.com"). This domain is actually for someone else's site and is not one of my main domains. I am in the process of transferring over my other domains from 1and1 (the fraudulent ****s).

Presumably since I registered domainX.com at the same time as purchasing hosting, domainX.com is now considered my "main" domain and in the client area under products my hosting account is listing with DomainX as the domain and also all of my login usernames are "domainX".

Am I able to change this so that another one of my domains is the "main" account and also am I able to change my login to something more appropriate?

    Thanks in advance.

    Hello Oliver,

    to the forums.

Yes, you can change the primary domain name on your hosting account with us at any time you wish to. You would need to pay the applicable domain transfer fees to transfer your existing domain to us. Once the domain domain is transferred under our registry, we'll change the primary domain for your account.

Excellent, thank you, that is good news
I'm already in the process of transferring my domains however 1and1 are being awkward and seem to be holding onto my main domain for as long as humanly possible. Gawd knows when they'll release it.

Once the transfer is initiated, the mail address listed in whois for the domain receives an email from the new registrar asking to approve the transfer.

Was the transfer approved in your case?

Hi, yeah I did have an email and did approve the transfer. I have actually just spoken to support and they've assured me the transfer is in progress and it won't be any longer than a couple of days, 1and1 have now released. Will just have to sit tight.

Rather than open another thread, can anyone tell me about the "25GB Backup Space-Free" and "Plesk 10 Domains" addons that are available to be ordered for free in the client area?

Aah yes it's a good idea to get in touch with them for an exact update. I hope you get it transferred over soon.
    Good Luck!

So neither of these addons apply to my Windows Shared Copper Plan?

No, I am afraid. You need to have a dedicated server or at least a VPS package to have those addons.
