    Hi Jeffrey,

We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience caused to you.

I have checked your account and your account is hosted on one of our Shared Server.

Going through your ticket, it seems you are using IMAP service for connection. IMAP is connection oriented. The server being a shared server, as and when the load on the service increases, it shuts itself down automatically. This is done to avoid spamming , high CPU usage and service corruption that affects the other customers on the same server.

I would recommend you to switch over pop3 service as such issue do not occur on pop3.

You can contact us on live chat or PM me, if you have any further doubts or queries.

Hi Chris, you see, your response is the first time that I get the explanation on why the IMAP services went dead. If you check my tickets, I kept on asking, what is the reason for the frequent down time and I never get any answer, all I got was that you all are still trying to identify what is the cause.

I even suggested in one of the tickets to see if there's any condition that trigger this error, whether too many connections or emails with large attachment but I was never taken seriously.

I tried switching the settings of my dwmail to pop3 but the 'sent folder' becomes empty and my client wants that as reference, so I had to stick with IMAP services.

The first year with your server was okay but starting middle of last year these problems kept happening regularly. So I am not sure what changed, either on the server side or on my client's side.

We've upgraded the mail server to the latest stable version now, which has this overloading bug patched, so hopefully this issue will be ending soon. Need to wait & watch if this continues & if it does, we'll migrate your account to one of our other windows shared hosting servers which has IMAP enabled too.

Thank you very much Chris/Rock, actually, my client asked me to find a new host but now that something is being done, I will stay here and see how it goes. If the problem does not occur then I'll just ask my client to upgrade the plans because the space if filling up fast.

Hopefully this works because I don't want to go through the hassle of moving all the files.

My client is happy now that they can use the webmail with attachment, so they can ditch the probably-buggy dwmail. I've just placed an order to upgrade my account to platinum.

Hope eUKhost doesn't let me down again!

Have you swapped over to using POP3 as recommended? .

Can't you take a local backup of the sent folder and then switch over to POP3? .

my client does not want to switch to POP3. Unless you mean I can make a local copy of the sent folder, switch to POP3 on the server and upload the backup to the server? is that even possible.

anyway this would be much easier to take if the mailenable can take attachments!

Is there a specific reason why your client does not want to switch to POP3?

And to clarify I was meaning you (or your client) making a local copy of the sent folder prior to switching to POP3.

Is there a requirement that all previous sent messages appear in the sent box in the e-mail client as opposed to being held locally?

As Chris has previously identified the problem being related to your / your clients use of IMAP:

Going through your ticket, it seems you are using IMAP service for connection. IMAP is connection oriented. The server being a shared server, as and when the load on the service increases, it shuts itself down automatically. This is done to avoid spamming , high CPU usage and service corruption that affects the other customers on the same server.

I would recommend you to switch over pop3 service as such issue do not occur on pop3.
I would suggest that the logical option would be to switch to POP3 to ensure the issue doesn't happen.

It would appear your client has two options: switch to POP3 and not encounter these problems, or understand the fact that by using IMAP, these problems can occur on occasion.

    Hope that helps .

thx Chris. unfortunately the prob still persists.

FYI I can login using Mailenable just fine but the inability to attach any file is the stumbling block. Any way to bring back Horde?

    Hi Jeffrey,

We've tried applying the MailEnable license several times but to no avail, it keeps on popping up an error message stating a corruption in the licensing module of the mail server. At this point, I'd recommend migrating your account to one of our other shared hosting servers which has the IMAP feature available. Please let us know if we can proceed with this..

ok I wanted to move but first I need to backup the 'sent folder' locally.. so I got imapsync and guess what.. connection timeout on imap.. if I probe on 143 it is closed? I had a chat with the live support he says imap is down at the moment..

    i can't catch a break here guys.
