I came across the following entry on the TRAFFIC OUTLOOK site today when Googling my family surname. It carried information about my site hosted here at EUKhost.

"craxford-family.co.uk is currently hosted on reading.eukhosting.net with IP address 109.203.99.180. The IP 109.203.99.180 is linked to the server in United Kingdom."

Should I (we) be concerned about this information being out in the public arena. Does it present a security issue or an illicit access opportunity for the "unwelcome"?

Hi Alan,

There's absolutely no need to worry about the server's IP or hostname being exposed. It isn't of or won't make any effect looking from the server's security point of view. There are several such sites available which run a reverse DNS scan to gather such data & display them over the internet, RobTex being one of the most famous..
