Default Reasons for Servers to go Down

What could be reason for Servers to go down in Properly Managed DATA centers?

I know the first thing that comes to anyone's mind is Load on the server due to heavy usage, Power Failure, Improper Temperature control and so on.......and yeah Terrorist Attacks as well

You are right if you had these reasons in mind and yes this means you are smarter than the average next door guy or girl.

But there is also one more reason for the Servers to go down........

Humidity: Yeah you read it right, humidity. Its one factor which is almost neglected most of the times and causes damage which is irreplaceable.

It can affect in Two major ways:

    - ESD or.Electrostatic buildup and discharge
    - Corrosion.

Every one is familiar with corrosion: due to humidity your Server components could start showing signs of corrosion resulting in permanent loss of systems and potentially data too.

But ESD is caused when the humidity level is low.

Industry experts have determined that the risk of ESD increases with lower humidity and cooler room Temperature.

Yeah too high or too low of humidity, both can cause ESD. So it's important to find the right balance.

The range for humidity is strictly between 40% to 60%.

So i think now when our Websites go down or servers go down we can blame one more thing for the servers to go down. Rather than just blaming the Hosting Provider.
