Default tailwatchd - chkservd on my.domain status: hang

3rd time today I've had the following email:

The chkservd sub-process with pid 29305 was running for 301 seconds. The sub-process was terminated as it exceeded the time between checks of 300 seconds. Please check /var/log/chkservd.log and /usr/local/cpanel/logs/tailwatchd_log to discover the cause.

Is it safe to ignore these warnings?

I received the same from various Cloud VMs and assumed rightly/wrongly that it was due to last night's updates.

Is something going on behind the scenes?

Contrary to my initial reply, it appears (at least now) that the messages are only coming from the eNlight Cloud.
After a spot of Google, I've tried the following:
    /scripts/checkperlmodules
    /scripts/upcp --force
Although a couple of files were updated and file permissions changed, this hasn't stopped the messages. I have however noted that they appear during spells of exceptionally high Load, along with exim queue size error and load error notifications.
