    Default Cloud VPS failure

    My Cloud VPS on 109.203.98.* is down, hold music on Support option for 30 minutes.

    A sales person transferred me to support where I was told that there was a memory problem that was being attended to, there will be an update in 2 hours

    I presume this is the same problem as VMwarecluster2 &4 - euk-status.com which mentions a 'shared storage issue', first reported at 4.26am (and, I suspect actually failed around 3am, so 7 hours outage so far.

    What I don't understand is why a Cloud VPS with "100% uptime" can be down at all, let alone for 7+ hours?

    Glad it isn't just me.

    My 100% uptime server has been offline since around 5am, with no signs of life since.

    Aside from the website stating "There will be absolutely no downtime due to power outage, network failure or failure of servers or storage.", what makes this more sour for me is that I ordered a mirrored server for our account last week but was told by support that it wasn't necessary since the cloud setup is fully redundant. I really wish I ignored their advice and went for the mirrored server now because that would have avoided the headache I am having today!

    Aye, in the same boat.

    In terms of telling customers of the problem and keeping them informed: Awesome.

    In terms of my clients phoning me and asking where their site is on a monday morning: Nightmare.


    Can we get an update on the Status Blog please?

    Yeah, just seen the update in the comments. My server is still down - Currently talking to Sheridan on Live Chat about it..

    @James :: File system check on the server has been completed. Your server is online now. Check the website functionality and report for any errors.

    My VPS still can't be reached with ssh. Ping is long as well, 400ms average

    On a Live Chat with Sarina who has just said that you are running file system checks which will take 2 hours

    What has happened to a 100% availability cloud server that can cause what looks like being at least an 11 hour outage?

    Our customers cannot reach us on our website or email - this is unacceptable

    Hi Nick. I had to perform a manual FSCK on your VM. Server is online now. Check the website and server functionality.

    There are issues with few VM's which are not booting. This include yours. It is being looked into.
