    Default Cluster 3

    Hello,

We are currently experiencing an intermittent problem on Cluster3. For the majority of customers on Cluster3 their websites are working without problem, but for a few people they may be experiencing intermittent periods of unavailability.

We are still investigating the cause of this problem and we will update you when we have news.
    Kind Regards,
    John - Managing Director

    Hi John,

I've been experiencing major issues with my Cloud VPS server. Is that related to the issues with Cluster 3? Thought clouds were failsafe to a degree. Can a full report be given as to what has happened once its sorted.

    Kind Regards,

    James

Wouldn't call it intermitant... mine hasn't been up for over an hour now... Is there any update on when it will be back online?

    Hello James,

Yes, your VPS is on Cluster3 and does appear to be having problems. You are correct in your statement of their being a degree of redundancy (a high degree, actually) but when those redundancies don't properly kick in problems can occur.

I will update you as soon as i have news.

There appears to be a problem with one of the storage devices. We are still investigating the exact problems and will update you when we have news.

    Hello All,

We are experiencing problems with one of the nfs storage on cluster3 due to which some of the VM's are affected.
This problem will be sorted ASAP. We Apologies for the inconvenience caused.

My 2 VM's on Cluster #3 have been down since 15:50, one of then came backup about 17:30 ish , but very slow , and the other has just risen from the dead, 18:35.

Thanks for the call John, although not happy

Things seem to be back up, my server loads are down to around 0.13 from the insane 5.00+ that they were earlier.

Can anything be done so this doesn't occur again. Admittedly, this is the first time my cloud has ever had any downtime - although it has been running sluggish over the past week or so.

Is this now considered complete? or are we just on a temp fix?

    Hello James,

Things are still being looked into. It could be there is an issue with how a particular storage device handled certain situations. If we need to take that storage out of the equation all together and put another one in place, we will.
    Kind Regards,

    Hello,

I promise you that I am very unhappy right now as well. 75% of what was down is now up and running completely. Full service should be restored soon.

Given the guaranteed 100% uptime, surely this should be a priority. Triage NOW, diagnose later.
When the dust has settled is the time to review the failure in redundancy/failover.

    Hello,

Currently two nodes are still having problems becoming part of the cluster again. They were taken offline when we were initially diagnosing the problem. This should be resolved completely in the next 20 minutes.

Everyone should have a near normal service now. If anyone is still experiencing problems, please come onto live chat.

An e-mail will be sent to all customers on cluster3 tomorrow with an explanation and compensation under the SLA. We will also give details on what we are putting in place to prevent it happening again.
    Kind Regards,
    John - Managing Director
